The players of AgeSanctuary.com have come together and created a Fan Patch for Age of Empires 3. This mod has balance suggestions from the fans as well as a few new maps. You can check out the full fan patch mod at AgeSanctuary.com

One word of caution. Once installed this pan patch will show up as a CRC error on ESO. We recomend that you backup and game files that this mod replaces.

It is finally here - the long-awaited TAD Fan Patch 1.0 from AgeSanctuary! We've worked hard to balance Japan and India in this first patch, as well as provide some bug fixes and new features. The patching process is still ongoing - we will be providing further adjustments to gameplay in the next patch.

This patch represents over 2 months' work from a dedicated volunteer team who have graciously offered their time and skills to help put this patch together. These people are: _H2O (play-testing), Braidon (play-testing), Flooky (play-testing), HAzArdrOxS (play-testing), Mayh3M (play-testing), NanoX (play-testing), Samwise12 (play-testing), SkWzZ_DAMNIT (play-testing), SkWzZ_Luigi (play-testing), WaCkO_ (consultant), Seraphim (file editing), MNBob (patch launcher implementation), RF_Gandalf (map design), as well as Peachrocks (for helping jump-start the process), and finally myself, [NerVe]_VipeR_, as project leader. Thanks also to those who helped out with translating the patch notes and stringtable files.

Why a fan patch? And why should I download it?

We developed this fan patch because of the fact that Ensemble Studios is closing down in February 2009, and will no longer be making any patches. Without any fan patch, we'd be left with the game as it is, permanently. Japan and India would perpetually be too strong, bugs will go unchecked, and the community will suffer as a result. That is why it is important for everyone to download this patch - ensuring that the community continues to enjoy the Asian Dynasties for the future.
