Portrait Collection from NA14

Hi,

How can I transfer my portrait collection from Nobunaga's Ambition 14 PK to Nobunaga's Ambition 15: Taishi?

I have several hundred portraits added for NA14.  Any help would be appreciated.  I can share the portrait files as well.

I don't think you can transfer form NA14 to NA15 because they changed portrait format (mediim and small protrait don't read alpha channel anymore) and they also add eye highlight in NA15.  (If you look at the portrait file at /documents/koeitecmo/nobu15/grp  you will find there is additional of edit_kao_eye_0.n15. )


I think I tried rename all the files' extension from n14 to n15 and it didn't work out well. (eg. change edit_kao_m_0.n14 to edit_kao_l_0.n15). I can't remember if the protrait add tool crush when I open. I end up need to readd entire portait gallery to n15 manually.

Thank you for this response.  I also tried to rename the extensions from n14 to n15 and it did not work.

Was there a tool you were able to use to extract the portraits easily from the .n14 files?  I could add them manually to Taishi but I'm not sure whether I can find a program to do a batch extract or if they all have to be collected again in their original forms.

That is good question and I am afraid there is no tool can do that.  There are tools that you can extract the original portait from the game but it read res_grp.bn files which allows you use n14 portrait in n15 or romance of three kingdom.  However  I don't think there is tool read EDIT_KAO_L_0.N14..etc (at least I amn't aware of.)

I always backup portrait source pictures since you pretty much have to re-add those picture manually. I use same picutre for both nobu and romance of three kingdom.

Thank you.  I have the back-up portraits still and will re-add manually.  I might download a MOD and tinker with its portrait collection since there's bound to be some overlap.  If I figure out a way to transfer portrait collections directly or more efficiently, I will let you know.  I appreciate the response.  Best,

No problem.

If it is a mod you download that contain protraits, some mod creators mod the res_grp.bin file instead add the protrait by offical protrait tool. If that is the case you should be able to extract the protrait with nobu14pictool. (I think that is the name.) I can't find the tool atm from my hdds.  7 x 2TB hdd contain a lot of useful or useless stuff. lol
