Our parent site IncGamers.com reports something we all really knew: Piracy is not a big deal for Blizzard, simply because they make so good games, people buy them!

Rob Pardo, VP of game design at Blizzard, told IncGamers "piracy, historically, has not been that big of deal for us." StarCraft II's lead designer Dustin Browder added he thinks "the most powerful solution for piracy is to try to create a compelling experience so people don't want to go elsewhere," something Blizzard obviously have been pretty good at before.
The difference a player will get from a pirate server of Battle.net and the real deal will be significant according to Pardo, saying he doesn't "think there is any way they are gonna compare with the sort of features that we are going to build in our version of Battle.net." There will probably come some sort of pirate Battle.net server software, "but it's just not going to be as good."
This is awesome, and likely the reason so few "intrusive" features have been implemented in the game. However, if piracy isn't so big, why no LAN? I thought that was the main reason...

这真是棒透了,就像是他们对于“并未向游戏中加入很多比较超前的冒进性质改动”的理由一样。不管怎样,如果盗版私服不是什么大问题,为何没有局域网?我想这才是主要原因吧……
