Ford Taurus SHO

Replacing the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor as the standard ‘cop’ vehicle from the Blue Oval, the Ford Taurus SHO has some big shoes to fill in the eyes of law enforcement professionals, but once they pound the accelerator in the new Police Interceptor – Taurus cop units will have no mention of the name ‘Taurus’ in badging – it won’t take much convincing.
Powered by Ford’s outstanding 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, the Taurus Police Interceptor available in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit produces a formidable 365 horsepower, an increase of more than 100 ponies from the final generation of Crown Victorias, and races from 0-60 in just 5.2 seconds.
It’s equipped with updated technology, including a blind spot information system, all-wheel-drive, a rear-view camera, reverse sensor and electronic stability control, making it perhaps the most advanced police cruiser Ford has ever built.
Many new police recruits struggled to adapt to the Crown Victoria and its heavy, rear-wheel-drive format, so the changeover to an all-wheel-drive setup in the Taurus Police Interceptor is welcomed. And when you take it out in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, we think you’ll be converted, too. |
