mobile gap generator
The Mobile gap generator was a truck-mounted version of the Gap Generator developed by the Allied Forces in Great World War II. It worked by generating interference that masked not only the units in close proximity to the truck, but also obscured segments of the map to electronic equipment and enemy units in the area. Due to the need to make the unit portable, the reductions in size and electrical consumption resulted in a much smaller radius of effect, but the demand to hide forces on the move was great enough to make it worthwhile.
After GWWII, the unit was discontinued in favor of maintaining stationary gap generators which were considered more efficient.

The radar jammer was a peculiar invention of the Great World War II. Built around the frame of a mobile command center, it's primary assignment was the jamming of enemy radar using a white-noise generator. In order to do this, the vehicle had to come into the vicinity of the enemy structures, where it started to jam the radar, forcing it to shut down.
Despite it's usefulness and obvious tactical advantages (as the radar prevented quick orientation in the situation on the battlefield), the unit was eventually scrapped and decommissioned with the advent of satellite surveillance and more refined sensors. |
