不逐句翻译了,大致意思就是画面质量只是texture and rendering quality,显卡只对此负责,至于下面slider,CPU的重要性比GPU来的多。

需要CPU承担,所以四核的U可以计算量大,但是速度不快,2核的计算量少,但是速度快,而体现的FPS的结果是差不多的,总而言之,你需要一颗速度飞快的四核U

First of all, I would like to recommend gtamonkey's solutions to everybody. He seems to be the only thinking person in here...
I bougth the game yesterday,and spent the nigth with reading and tweaking. I came to the following conclusions:
1. 8800 (and like) users are more satisfied, as they are the ones, who can accept if not EVERYTHING is maxed up, no matter what it really does.
2. We have one fact: GTA 4 is a port. What does this mean to me? The logic is different than a pure PC game.
Where do you see it most? (And here is my point)
From the settings just 2 are graphic only settings. Those are the texture, and the rendering quality. The others are more CPU than GPU related.
Whats the other difference? As PC users, we are used to the way you can lower graphical only quality: if you lower a slider,things actually become invisible or worse quality.
Here it is only true with the two graphical only settings (texture and rendering quality). Those are responsible for how the game's graphics looks. With the sliders, everything stays the same grapicswise, only becomes visible sooner. (Idon't get the shadows slider though) See the difference?
So those complaining about 4870x2s are comlaining about 2 settings, which can be maxed even on a 4850x1. Not to talk about resolution. First game recently, that can run 1650x1024 on my rig recently. So almost everyones graphics is maxed they just don't realize it.
3. It is an open world, which cannot be compared to a fixed level one, like crysis. It needs CPU calculations all time,real time, about the whole city. As demanding, as a strategy game, just count the AI units (helicopters, planes, cars, people) and breakable stuff...
So lets see those sliders, which are not GPU only related. If you want to see more, you need insane amount of CPU power and CPU speed.
People with slow quads can calculate more, but with less speed. People with fast core2s can calculate less, with more speed. FPS will be about the same, with sliders probably more up with quads. Fast quad users report to be able to run the game fast and doesn't complain at all. Why? Figure it out.
4. I am not talking about the several glitches, that makes its a bad port (jagginess, weird textures, instant popouts) as they are minor, and can be patched. But I don't think there is any major problems with the engine, it is just revolutionary, and thus different and needs tweaking. |
