7. 11: DUNWICH BUILDING (LAT -26/LONG -18)

Jaime Palabras
Jaime was born in the mid-Wastelands to
a Ranger. His father returned to camp from
an expedition with a thick book, bound in
odd black leather and stamped with strange
glyphs. Convinced the book would fetch a
high price, his fa ther traveled to the Capital
Wastes to offer it to the Brotherhood of Steel
Scribes. Despondent, Jaime's father vowed to
return the book "to its source."
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 01): It's
been nuts lately; he doesn't know why the
old coot has come out here, leaving Jaime
in the crappy old hospital. He's left the
colony, almost out of rations, and doesn't
know where the old man is.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 02):
The trail has gone cold, so Jaime took up
wandering with some folks he met. Hopefully
they've seen Dad.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 03):
Those folks weren't who Jaime thought they
were, killing that family for a sack of rotting
vegetables. He' ll leave them the first
chance he gets.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 04):
They struck a caravan, and Jaime was
rescued. The Traders spotted a man fitting
his father's description heading south and
carrying a book. It gave the Traders the
creeps; Jaime too.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry OS):
His father must be around here; Jaime recognizes
the traps. There's a building on
the horizon. Perhaps he's in here. If not, at
least it's a roof over his head for a night.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 06): He
doesn't like the look and smell of this place.
He also doesn't want to risk a shot "at the
crows" until he knows what's in there. He's
about to Sneak in.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 07): The
Raiders told spooky stories about "zombies"
in these ruins. Jaime thinks they really
used to be people.
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 08): He
found Dad. He didn't recognize him at first;
"he was becoming like them." No more killing.
He must leave but take the book with
him. The book is warm against the stone
floor. He must "ressst awhillle .... "
Jaime's Personal Journal (Entry 09) : "Sharp
knife descend into deep temple. Flay! Athul
comes again on the feast of the weaker!
Born again! Alhazared! " |
