debacle surrounding IWNet dropping dedicated servers was certainly one of the biggest news stories last year.
The announcement which meant players had to play on IWNet caused outrage amongst PC gamers when Infinity Ward's community manger, Robert Bowling insisted it allowed the publisher to support the PC audience better.
"From a development standpoint, it's very good on how we can access and update the PC community."
Although this is a Treyarch game, and therefore means the whole IWNet news is irrelevant, it does give an indication as to how the developer wants to continue.
If we're lucky, we might even see the return of dedicated servers to Infinity Ward's CoD offerings, and the demise of IWNet. Somehow I think that's rather unlikely.
Call of Duty 7: Black Ops is the next game in the massive CoD franchise.
