好吧,今天暴雪在官网招聘栏目中更新了几个为它的一个未公开的秘密项目所招聘的职位,分别是Lead 3D Level Designer/主3D关卡设计师、Senior 3D Level Designer/高级3D关卡设计师、3D Level Designer/3D关卡设计师、3D Level Designer/3D关卡设计师助理。
值得一提的是,Blizzard在这些职位说明中都注明了是为Diablo小组招聘的。鉴于关卡设计阶段实际上说明游戏开发已经进入中期,那么延续此前的猜测,我认为这个Diablo的续作的开发应当是很顺利,也许今年内便会公布。
New Position - Lead 3D Level Designer
The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled lead 3D level designer with experience building levels using Maya or other similar 3D level building tools. The ideal candidate has experience creating levels in a senior or lead role on a shipped game. We would also like for this candidate to have excellent analytical understanding of competitive online play with various Blizzard Entertainment games and mods (real-time strategy, World of Warcraft, Defense of the Ancients, etc.). The lead level designer needs to be able to create fun and interesting environments that look and play great while managing and mentoring a team of additional level designers. 每天都去暴雪官网招聘页面溜达一下基本上已经是我的习惯了,没错,这是一种怪癖,就算你有所发现,你也没办法去证明这点。
我们知道,由于魔兽世界获得的巨大成功,暴雪现在有能力同时开展多个项目,从官网的招聘信息来看可以确定暴雪目前至少有4个项目同时进行着,分别是WOW:WotLK、Starcraft II、Next-Gen MMO(列为Top Secret)和另一个未公开的Top Secret项目。
今天我们就来说说这个Top Secret项目,根据以前得到的小道消息,我们基本可以断定这个项目就是传说中的Porject Hydra,有些人说这个可能是Diablo III,也有人认为这可能是一个全新的游戏。那么哪种说法更值得相信呢?
在美术一栏我们可以看到这几个职位,Lead 3D Environment Artist(3D环境主美术师)、3D Background Artist(3D背景美术师)、Environment Texture Artist(环境贴图美术师)、Senior 3D Character Animator(高级3D角色动画师),点开看一下具体的招聘要求,我们可以发现一些不同寻常的东西。
Lead 3D Environment Artist
Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of Diablo and Diablo II, is looking for a lead 3D environment artist skilled at creating models and texture maps for both architectural and natural environments. The ideal candidate has experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments. A solid grasp of form, color, and light for both 2D and 3D art assets is essential. The lead environment artist must have experience leading a team and have a skill in another art task as well (illustration, modeling, texturing, animation, or concept drawing) and be well-versed in related tools -- Maya, Photoshop, etc. The ideal candidate works well in an environment of peers who are passionate about making great games.
3D Background Artist
Blizzard, the developer of Diablo and Diablo II, is looking for a 3D Background Artist skilled at creating models and texture maps for both architectural structures and natural environments. 3D Artists assist in the design and creation of objects and characters that populate the environment, using programs such as Maya, and participate in game design with the rest of the team. The ideal candidate has outstanding skill in both modeling and texturing of background objects and environments.
Senior 3D Character Animator
The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled Senior 3D Character Animator. The ideal candidate has experience animating both human and non-humanoid characters. A solid grasp of the principles of body movement, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through, squash and stretch, forward and inverse kinematics and other facets of both 2D and 3D animation is essential. The ideal candidate works well in an environment of peers who are passionate about making great games.
前两个职位要求中,暴雪强调了自己是Diablo/Diablo II的开发者的身份,而其它的招聘信息均无此类附加说明,言下之意也很明显;第三个职位要求中更是直接说明了Diablo/DiabloII的制作小组正在寻觅一个熟练的高级3D角色动画师。
追溯一下,06年07年暴雪都曾为Diablo team招聘,06年初招聘的是主设计师,注明了是带领Diablo team开发游戏。
所以我坚持我的看法,那就是这个秘密项目或者Project Hydra就是传说中的Diablo III,因为还在招聘高级美术师,可见它仍处于项目前期阶段。好消息是这个项目应当是已经经过了反复研究推到重来的阶段(SC II就经过数次这种阶段),开发方向已经确立,所以才会扩充人手。
最后为了表示对镰刀的敬畏,我声明我发此帖只为提示一下大家在这几个招聘启事中暴雪用了Diablo小组这样的字样,以及我对此的解读,并非就是在传播诸如Diablo III如何如何的谣言。还请手下留情。 |
