Blank/corrupt screen potential workaround
Thanks all for triaging the issue in the other 'black screen' thread. I'm going to sticky this post for better visibility,
but it appears an additional optional Windows Update may help resolve the issue.
In particular, please try the KB2670838 Windows Update first and see if that does the trick.

If the above doesn't work,
there may be other optional Windows Update that may help which JaAmFan summarized in the screenshot he enclosed in the post below.

In addition, please ensure that you have the latest DirectX, KB2952664 (Windows 7 users),
and up to date video drivers installed. More info here:

One last temporary workaround:
1) Go to the Steam apps installation directory for MMLC (folder name is "Suzy")
2) Right-click on Proteus.exe, select Properties, ans switch to Compatibility tab
3) Tick the "Run this program in compatibility..." check box, select an older version Windows edition, and then click OK.
(experiment with Windows 8, Windows 7, ,etc.)
4) Launch the game.
Above are temporary workarounds to try while the development team takes a look at the issue further. Thanks for your patience.
