The game is barebones at times, with relatively crude production values and not much structure. You basically provide your own story.

6.5 Graphics
While not technically complex, the battle scenes are rendered nicely and fluidly. However, the rest of the game feels a decade behind in terms of visuals.

Rudimentary battle sounds at best; the music is interesting, but feels out of place thanks to its synthesized nature.

9.0 Gameplay
A great blend of action, open-world strategy, role-playing, and adventure. It's very much a Sid Meier's Pirates! for a medieval world.

8.5 Lasting Appeal
You can spend a long time playing a career, then start over and try again. This is the kind of game that gets under your skin and stays there.
