Playstyle effects playtime enormously. For instance, there's a lot of informational questions you can ask NPC, and doing so will add I'd think a few hours to your game time compared to a more direct playthrough. There's also a ton of depth to the party members if you take the time to talk to them, but you don't have to.

If you're doing a second play through, or you're impatient, you might skip lines of dialog. If you've got subtitles turned on, you may read faster than the VO goes, and cut off the VO when you're done reading. That reduces conversation time enormously.

There's also pausing and tactics in combat. If you play on easy or normal and have killer AI tables for your party, you may never need to pause or reload. That will mean a much faster playthrough than if you're pausing every few seconds every fight and carefully considering your options.

There's also party and inventory management. Some people are obsessive about selecting just the right talents and equipping just the right gear and picking up and selling every possible item. Other people just pick up and equip what looks good and use the auto levelup button. Over the course of the game, that could add up to hours of playtime difference.

There's also the codex. If you stop and read every codex entry as you get it, that's going to take a lot of time, especially if you are a slow reader. Other people are going to ignore the codex entirely.

Then there's side quests. You can take any approach from avoiding them like the plague all the way to backtracking over every level actively looking for every last scrap of content. This is probably the most significant thing that will effect playtime.

A content avoiding, conversation skipping, combat crushing playthough of DA will still take time to get through, my guess is at least 10 hours. I'll be curious to see just how fast the speed-runs end up. On the other hand, a content seeking, conversation listening, tactically considering playthough would take more like 60 hours, or even more if you're especially thorough. Ray is that kind of gamer, and he took over 100. I think an average gamer who’s not rushing but is still focusing mainly on getting through the game can expect a 40+ hour experience the first time. There are all just my personal estimates however.
