Open the lua in wordpad (not notepad or else it wont work)
you should see alot of things for color schemes
(if you want additional colours to chose from, extract armypaintercolours.lua aswell)
so, then you make up your own, for now I made this.
{
chapterKeyName = "SM_IronClaws",
chapterNameID = 9109487, -- LOCDB [9109487] 'IronClaws'
--~ chapterNameID = 9109488, -- LOCDB [9109488] 'IronclawsChapter'
primaryColourName = "Chaos Black",
sec,
tintColourName = "Chaos Black",
extraColourName = "Metallic Gold",
teamTex = "1",
badge1Tex = "nobadge",
usableRaces = { "race_marine" },
armyPainterVisibility = true,
},
team tex= 1= normal space marines, 2= halved space marines 3= quatered 4 =helmet goes extra colour.
Right so now, you have your colour scheme
Time to get the name ingame.
go to GameAssets\Locale\English\DOW2.ucs open that in wordpad, w/e
if you haven't added anything recently into the ucs then copy this
9110926 Namehere
and
9110927 NamehereChapter
you then add these parts to the defaultchaptercolours.lua
*do not post yet*
so this is what my scheme now looks like with the ucs change.
{
chapterKeyName = "SM_IronClaws",
chapterNameID = 9110926, -- LOCDB [9110926] 'IronClaws'
--~ chapterNameID = 9110927, -- LOCDB [9110927] 'IronclawsChapter'
primaryColourName = "Chaos Black",
secondaryColourName = "Bone",
tintColourName = "Chaos Black",
extraColourName = "Metallic Gold",
teamTex = "1",
badge1Tex = "nobadge",
usableRaces = { "race_marine" },
armyPainterVisibility = true,
},
Congratulations! you just made a scheme, but the funs not over yet
open up corsix's mod tools, click on load CoH/OF mod then find the place where you extracted the Fake CoH module(fauxcoh), then go to tools, after go to SGA packer,now you must specify where your files are (make sure the TOC name is Data), so mine would be
warhammer 40,000 dawn of war ii - beta\GameAssets\Archives\DATA
and find a place for your sga then click create!
One more step!
*do not post yet*
right you now have your sga somewhere, so go to start>run>cmd now you must specify where the Sga4to5 is my command would be
sga4to5 -i J:\colorschemes.sga -o J:\hax\ColorSchemes.sga -v -name Data
(lol @ hax)
but then you should have your version 5 sga made then place it into:
J:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\warhammer 40,000 dawn of war ii - beta\GameAssets\Archives
after you must backup your module file and put this line into it.
archive.01 = GameAssets\Archives\sgafilehere.sga
***OPTIONAL***
Making badges is quite simple once you get the hang of it.
make sure you have armypaintercolours.lua extracted
and make sure you have a dds editor like photoshop or something
then get out the sga reader again this time open up the gameart.sga in archives,
go to art>badges>units then extract any, mine would be SM_Iron hands
then get your picture you want to use with it and put it onto the dds,
now open up your armypaintercolours.lua in wordpad at the end of the file add your
badge for example, mine: ( things like helptextID and armypainter visablity dont realy matter)
{
badgeTextureName = "IronClaws",
helpTextID = 9110604,
usableRaces = { "race_marine" },
armyPainterVisibility = false,
},
then repeat the sga packing process at the top.
once you learn it , its easy , ill post things i've made later though
Thanks to copernicus at relic forums for somehelp
