+++ Experience the most realistic Antaloor of all time +++
Worlds like "the "Two Worlds" universe of Antaloor depend on a really realistic atmosphere that players can truly soak up! Depending on the region, various different light and atmospheric effects must give the player a realistic impression of warmth, cold and impending danger. Dark cave entrances, complex swamp areas or action-packed battles only seem realistic if the right stylistic devices are put to good use. One good example of this is a brand-new image from the latest stage of development. The many graphic technical features implemented into the new engine, like fog and light effects, already look great - and believe me, all your senses will come alive on the banks of a certain small stream in the early morning!
The further development of trees, plants and flowers is also very apparent. The trees really seem to be 'organic' and the ground vegetation is so detailed and dense that you might even reach back from your computer stool and touch a dank creeper! Water imagery is also an important factor in the world of realism - we ran a story about Reality Pump's impressive further developments in realistic water effects in one of the earlier issues of the AP. From waves to reflections and transparency, every detail - and it's all there.
+++ Special rewards are waiting for explorative spelunkers +++
The new dungeon and cave system from "The Temptation" gives Antaloor a true sense of depth (pardon the pun). In addition to the top-to-bottom improvement of graphics and diversification, this time Reality Pump has also made sure that certain sections of the underworld have received super enhancements. This makes it more appealing for players to expose themselves to dangers in the darkness. Especially powerful weapons or very rare, magical gemstones are just begging to be discovered down there!
And it's exactly these two items that remind us of another theme which has also been enhanced: the magical reinforcement of certain weapons with special crystals. This feature was already available in the first part - but it's now a lot more complex in "The Temptation". And if you have the right talent, you can take these crystals off one weapon and put them on another. So now when you change a weapon, you won't lose the magical effects that you've worked hard to collect. However, the magic crystal can also be ruined during a weapon change - just how successfully you are able to swap crystals from one weapon to another depends on how many development points you've invested in your blacksmith's skills. So in "The Temptation" you'll have to be very careful how you invest those skill points.
+++ Fantastic new region is full of atmosphere and adventure +++
We recently took Reality Pump on their offer to take a trip into a new region in Antaloor - and even chance a few nervous steps into the fantastic swamp! And I can tell you this, folks, it was a truly realistic and unbelievable experience - we even got our virtual feet wet! The results of Reality Pump's extensive technical development, together with the combination of graphics and sound really makes an impact on you in those swamps... marshy ground sucks at your hero's feet with horrible noises, but he walks more quietly on dry terrain - and if he steps in a puddle or fords a small stream, the splashing sound is wonderfully realistic. Also graphically the swamp is just stunning: Tendrils of mist are lying on the water, mossy ruins are jutting out of dead branches and the eerie Dead Knights are wandering through the everglades.
Sooner or later your hero will encounter a very special resident of the swamp! The Swamp Witch is supposed to be one of the oldest beings on Antaloor - and if she ever had any human qualities, they're long gone. This secretive sorceress practices her evil arts high up in the top of a huge tree... and watches your hero like a hawk too! In spite of her advanced age, take care never to underestimate her - she's highly intelligent, can see into the future and likes to decorate her body with a human skull... be a shame if it was your head dangling from her belt! As if all this weren't enough, she's gonna give you a really horrible quest to complete too...
+++ New movements turn player into a high-wire artist +++
Mobility is a big issue in "The Temptation"! Your hero can now use ladders and projections on walls to climb up buildings and scramble over rooftops using beams and small catwalk platforms. Up until now, these movements have been carried out in an upright walking position - but the developers have recently programmed a couple of new movements, adding even more realism to climbing and balancing! Now your hero can automatically go into a slower sideways motion mode when he reaches a catwalk, meaning you can control him much better on tight passageways... and this sideways movement also drastically reduces your hero's chances of executing a painful landing in a busy marketplace 12 yards beneath him!
If he does fall, however, no need to hide... the second new feature is made to lessen the effects of a fall... capes! These new capes are endowed with magical features and move realistically with your hero's movements and gusts of wind - an optical jewel that will help distract the angry NPC's in the marketplace when you land among them on your --- !作者: yyllsdx 时间: 2008-12-5 22:54:20
